Alfa Romeo Giulia’s sale numbers have not been impressive, to say the least. While there are many speculations, there is no definitive evidence behind this problem. Giulia is an amazing car that competes in the premium market with the best, while the QV version blew the competition away, so why aren’t more people buying it?
The main reason behind this could be the lack of variants. While the German competitions milk each model to the max, offering coupes, convertibles, estates, performance versions, Alfa dropped the ball.
When it comes to Giulia, only one version is offered, the saloon. There is a QV, as well as GTA and GTAm, but they are still only offered as 4-door.
The strongest versions of the Giulia offered as the coupes would certainly be the hit, both when it comes to design, and performance. On the other hand, the estate version would also be a great addition, and it would amp up the sale numbers as well.
While there is no info from Alfa’s main people regarding this possibility, we got a great render from Sugar Design which envisions exactly this.

As you can see from the photos Giulia in this version looks amazing. It definitely looks better than anything offered by the competition. So lack of it simply seems like a greatly missed opportunity. Now, in the QV variant, it would be even more special.
If you think it wouldn’t sell, remember that BMW, Mercedes, and Audi offer their strongest version as the Sportwagon. So what is Alfa waiting for?
